Join us as we celebrate the fullness of our LGBTQIA+ siblings by celebrating Pride Month with the other Nashville area Inclusive and Affirming Churches!
We will be kicking off Pride Month with a concert in our Sanctuary on Friday, May 26, 2023 featuring singer-songwriter Kimayo as part of her “My Queer Faith” tour.
During her one-hour, donation-based event Kimayo invites you into her life and faith journey. Through storytelling and live music she breaks down walls allowing for solidarity and possibility. Kimayo’s songs, humor, and transparency flow together forming a beautiful and sacred experience. In June, we will be participating in Nashville Pride Festival to share our message of inclusion. We will march in the Pride Parade (gather at 9:15 on Saturday, June 24); sign up and find instructions HERE.
We will also have a booth, where we will share God’s abundant love by offering communion to all! You can sign up for our booth HERE.
Everyone who marches in the parade will get a shirt to wear so we can be a unified United Methodist presence. If you’d like a Blakemore shirt to wear to show that God loves EVERYONE, you can check out our Bonfire store Wear More Blakemore. Just because we know how hot it can be at Pride, we’ve made sure that there are t-shirts and tank tops you can order!
And on Sunday, June 25, in worship, we will celebrate that all people are loved and wanted by God.
